Donard Shadow Lodge exceeded all expectations with its cozy and immaculately clean accommodations, complete with a fully equipped kitchen and incredibly comfortable bed and sofas. the thoughtful touches, such as cold water in the fridge and jam and butter for guests to enjoy, truly made us feel at home. the location was perfect, within walking distance to Newcastle main street and with a gate leading directly to the foot of the mountain for outdoor adventures. the hosts were welcoming and accommodating, providing great instructions and allowing for a peaceful and relaxing stay. Overall, this adults-only lodge is a hidden gem for a romantic getaway or a peaceful retreat, offering a perfect combination of comfort, convenience, and natural beauty.
